The KENNAMETAL 4149233 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit sized to Letter F (0.2570 inches) with a 140-degree split-point geometry and a multilayer TiAlN coating. Manufactured to DIN 6537K specification, it features a regular spiral flute, right-hand cutting direction, and a straight cylindrical shank. Overall length is 3.5827 inches (91.00 mm), with a flute length of 2.0866 inches (53.00 mm) and a maximum drilling depth of 1.6929 inches (43.00 mm). Coolant-through capability supports high-feed, deep-hole applications in demanding production environments. This bit is installed and used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC and manual drilling operations.
The 4149233 is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. Its 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and tapered web configuration make it appropriate for precision hole-making in both job-shop and production-floor environments. The straight shank with a diameter of 0.5156 inches (8 mm) fits standard drill chucks and collet holders without modification. This bit performs reliably in applications where hole location accuracy and tool life under interrupted or continuous cuts are priorities.
Designed as an OEM-specification replacement or direct-fit drill bit for applications requiring a Letter F diameter (0.2570 inches) straight-shank jobber drill in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpiece materials per DIN 6537K.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with CNC or manual drill press operation. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Confirm chuck or collet runout is within tolerance before use, as excessive runout will accelerate wear and reduce hole accuracy. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for feed rate and spindle speed selection.
