The KENNAMETAL 4149211 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit with a 5.10 mm diameter and a 140-degree split point angle. It features a multilayer TiAlN coating applied over a high-performance solid carbide substrate, delivering extended tool life and resistance to heat buildup during high-speed drilling operations. The drill has an overall length of 82.00 mm (3.2283 inches) and a flute length of 44.00 mm (1.7323 inches), with a straight cylindrical shank of 6 mm diameter. It is designed for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines in production and job-shop environments.
This drill is suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute geometry support chip evacuation in through-hole and moderate-depth drilling applications. Internal coolant-through capability makes it effective in high-feed production drilling where heat and chip management are critical. It conforms to DIN 6537K specification, making it a standard-format tool compatible with common toolholding systems used in precision machining operations.
Designed to DIN 6537K specification with a 6 mm straight cylindrical shank, this drill fits standard collet chucks, hydraulic chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders sized for 6 mm shank tooling. Suitable for workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a full stop and lockout-tagout procedures applied per OSHA 1910.147. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the toolholder is torqued to the toolholder manufacturer specification before operation. Verify coolant-through supply pressure is matched to the machine spindle before enabling internal coolant flow. Do not use this drill in applications that exceed the maximum drilling depth of 35.00 mm without appropriate pecking cycles or chip-clearing pauses.
