The KENNAMETAL 4149198 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding materials. Ground to a 140-degree point angle for improved centering and reduced thrust, it features a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life under elevated cutting temperatures. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.3906 inches in diameter and seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet systems. With an overall length of 2.9134 inches and a right-hand, regular spiral flute configuration, this drill is built for precision work in production and maintenance environments. Licensed and journeyman machinists are the primary installers of this tool.
Wire size 19 corresponds to a decimal diameter of 0.1660 inches, placing this drill in the small-diameter, tight-tolerance category. It is suited for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and coolant-through capability make it a strong choice for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines where through-spindle coolant or flood coolant is available. Typical applications include precision hole production in aerospace, toolroom, and general metalworking environments.
Designed for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpiece materials. Compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.3906-inch shank diameter. Meets DIN 6537K specification.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel familiar with cutting tool setup and machine operation. Ensure the machine spindle and workholding are fully stopped and power is isolated before loading or removing the tool from the chuck or collet. Verify shank runout and chuck condition prior to use, as excessive runout will cause premature tool failure in carbide tooling. When using coolant-through capability, confirm coolant pressure and flow rate are within the machine spindle specifications before initiating a cut.
