The KENNAMETAL 4149195 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit sized to wire gauge number 20, with a decimal diameter of 0.1610 inches. It features a 140-degree split-point geometry and a multilayer TiAlN coating for extended tool life in demanding materials. The overall length is 2.9134 inches (74.00 mm) and the flute length is 1.4173 inches (36.00 mm). The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.4063 inches in diameter. With a right-hand cutting direction and regular spiral flutes, this drill is manufactured to DIN 6537K specification and includes through-coolant capability. It is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in production and job-shop environments.
This drill is designed for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and tapered web configuration support chip evacuation in deeper hole applications. Through-coolant support makes it suitable for CNC machining centers and automated drilling operations where consistent hole quality and extended run times are required. The 140-degree point angle reduces thrust load and improves self-centering on flat and curved surfaces. Typical applications include precision hole-making in aerospace, automotive, and general metalworking production runs.
Designed as an OEM-specification replacement or production drill for machining operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials, conforming to DIN 6537K dimensional standards.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC or manual drilling equipment. Before tool changes, de-energize the spindle and confirm the machine is in a safe state per shop lockout-tagout procedures. Verify chuck or collet runout is within acceptable limits before committing to production runs, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading. Through-coolant connections should be confirmed and flow tested before high-feed operation.
