The KENNAMETAL 4149155 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit sized to wire gauge 41 (0.0960 inches decimal equivalent) with a 140-degree split-point angle. Designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments, it features a multilayer TiAlN coating, a regular spiral flute geometry, and a straight cylindrical shank. The 2-flute design provides efficient chip evacuation while the tapered web configuration adds point stability. At 2.2835 inches overall length with a 0.8661-inch flute length, this drill is built for precision small-diameter work. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed operation in deep-hole applications. Licensed machinists and tool-room technicians are the primary users.
This drill is suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes where tight tolerance and tool life are priorities. The DIN 6537K specification ensures dimensional consistency for use in standard collet and chuck systems. With a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 0.6693 inches, this drill handles short to moderate depth holes in a single pass without peck cycling in many applications.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and conventional drilling equipment accepting a 0.3750-inch straight cylindrical shank. Compatible with primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys per manufacturer specification.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine powered down and in a locked-out state per OSHA lockout/tagout requirements. Seat the straight shank fully and evenly in a precision collet or drill chuck rated for the shank diameter before tightening. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 0.6693 inches without re-evaluating the application setup. Inspect the cutting edge and coating for chipping before each use, as carbide tooling is brittle and should not be dropped or struck against hard surfaces.
