The KENNAMETAL 4149143 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision small-diameter drilling in demanding machining applications. At 1.50 mm (0.0591 inches) in diameter, it features a 140-degree drill point angle and a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that extends tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. The bit measures 58.00 mm (2.2835 inches) overall length with a 12.00 mm (0.4724 inches) spiral flute length. Coolant-through construction supports internal coolant delivery, improving chip evacuation and thermal management during deep-hole drilling. This tool is intended for use by machinists and tooling professionals in CNC and precision drilling operations.
The 4149143 is built for high-precision micro drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where tight tolerances are required. The straight-cylindrical shank at 4.00 mm diameter seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. With a maximum drilling depth of 9.00 mm and a tapered web configuration, this bit maintains rigidity and cutting stability at small diameters. It conforms to DIN 6537K specification, making it a recognized standard geometry suitable for production and toolroom environments where dimensional consistency is critical.
Part of the KENNAMETAL Series B052A-CPG micro drill line. Designed for use in standard straight-bore collet chucks and drill holders accepting a 4.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for CNC machining centers and drill presses configured for precision micro drilling.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Confirm the holder or collet bore matches the 4.00 mm shank diameter before seating the bit to ensure proper runout. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated maximum drilling depth of 9.00 mm per pass. Use appropriate coolant pressure compatible with coolant-through tooling to prevent chip packing and premature tool wear.
