The KENNAMETAL 4137446 is a solid carbide compression spiral router bit designed for clean, burr-free cuts in composite materials and fiberglass. With a 0.25-inch cutter diameter and a 0.75-inch length of cut, this double-edge bit uses a compression flute geometry that applies opposing shear forces to the workpiece surface, reducing delamination and surface tear-out on both the top and bottom faces of the material. The diamond coating extends cutting edge life in abrasive applications where uncoated carbide degrades rapidly. It is suited for CNC router operations in fabrication and production environments.
This router bit is intended for machining composite panels, fiberglass laminates, and similar abrasive sheet materials. Its compression flute design makes it particularly effective where finish quality on both faces of the workpiece is critical, such as cabinet panels, marine components, and structural composite parts. The right-hand cutting direction and 25-degree helix angle are matched to standard CNC router spindle configurations common in production shops and fabrication facilities.
Designed for use in CNC routers and routing fixtures accepting a 1/4-inch shank, applied to composite and fiberglass sheet materials.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified CNC operators or machinists with the spindle fully de-energized and locked out per applicable machine safety procedures. Confirm shank seating depth and collet torque per the router manufacturer specifications before operation. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or coating wear before each use, particularly when running abrasive composite materials.
