The KENNAMETAL 4121607 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ISO designation XNGJ0604ANENLD3W and manufacturer grade KC522M. It features a trigon (80-degree included angle) shape with a wiper cutting edge style and an AlTiN coating applied via PVD process. The inscribed circle measures 0.4724 inches and the insert thickness is 0.1777 inches. Six cutting edges and a neutral hand orientation make this a versatile double-sided insert for high-productivity face and shoulder milling. It is designed for installation in Kennametal Dodeka cutter bodies using screw-holding method and suits shops running steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials.
This insert is intended for professional machining environments including job shops, production facilities, and aerospace or heavy-equipment manufacturing operations. Its positive rake angle of 15 degrees and LD chip breaker geometry support controlled chip formation across a broad range of workpiece materials coded P, M, K, and S under ISO material classification. The maximum depth of cut reaches 0.2830 inches, making it applicable to moderate-to-aggressive milling passes on ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. A corner radius of 0.0630 inches (1/16 inch) provides edge strength while maintaining surface finish quality on finished or semi-finished cuts.
Designed for use in Kennametal Dodeka cutter bodies that accept XNGJ-series screw-held inserts. Conforms to ANSI code XNGJ43ANENLD3W and ISO code XNGJ0604ANENLD3W. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer to seat the insert screw — do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can fracture under excessive clamping force. Inspect the insert pocket for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper support and runout.
