The KENNAMETAL 4121505 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding production environments. The drill features a 140-degree point angle optimized for fast penetration and reduced thrust in hard and abrasive workpiece materials. A multilayer TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. With a 3.30 mm diameter, 66.00 mm overall length, and a 6 mm straight cylindrical shank, this drill is built for precision work in CNC machining centers and automated drilling operations. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and heat control at depth.
This drill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials in both production shops and toolroom applications. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 28.00 mm flute length support drilling to a maximum depth of 23.00 mm. The tapered web configuration and regular spiral flute geometry maintain chip flow and cutting stability across a range of feed and speed parameters. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and precision metalworking technicians are the primary installers and users of this tooling.
Designed as a DIN 6537K-compliant jobber drill for use with standard straight-shank drill chucks and hydraulic or shrink-fit toolholders accepting a 6 mm shank diameter. Suitable for workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys.
Installation and use of this tooling should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC technicians familiar with carbide cutting tool handling. Confirm the toolholder is clean and within runout tolerance before seating the shank, as carbide drills are sensitive to misalignment and side load. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped before tool changes. Follow the machine tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and drill diameter.
