The KENNAMETAL 4119228 is a solid carbide hexagon milling insert carrying the ISO designation HNPJ0604ANSNHD and manufacturer grade KCPK30. It features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3, delivering thermal and wear resistance across a broad range of workpiece materials. The insert is double-sided with 12 cutting edges, a positive rake angle of 15 degrees, and a honed T-Land cutting edge style. Thickness measures 0.1731 inches, the inscribed circle diameter is 0.4724 inches, and the maximum depth of cut is 0.2536 inches. It mounts via screw-holding and is part of the Dodeka cutter series. Installation and setup are handled by machinists and CNC tooling specialists.
This insert is designed for use in Kennametal Dodeka series milling cutters. It targets applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to material codes P, M, K, and S. The HD chip breaker geometry is suited for moderate to heavy roughing passes where chip control and edge stability are priorities. The neutral hand designation makes it compatible with a range of standard Dodeka cutter bodies without orientation restrictions. It conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, with the ANSI code HNPJ43ANSNHD and ISO code HNPJ0604ANSNHD.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and screw driver bit specified by the cutter body manufacturer for the insert clamping screw — do not overtighten or use impact tools. Inspect the cutter pocket and seating surface for debris or damage before installing a new insert.
