The KENNAMETAL 4119224 is a solid carbide milling insert in the HNGJ series, designed for high-productivity face and shoulder milling operations. This hexagon-shaped, double-sided insert carries the KC725M manufacturer grade and features a PVD-applied TiAlN coating for extended tool life under demanding cutting conditions. With 12 usable cutting edges per insert, it delivers a low cost-per-edge profile suited to high-volume production environments. The insert measures 0.4724 inches in inscribed circle diameter and 0.1764 inches thick, with a honed cutting edge style and a neutral hand orientation. It is installed by machinists and CNC tooling specialists in milling cutter bodies designed to accept HNGJ-style inserts.
This insert is engineered for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium — workpiece material codes P, M, and S. The LD chip breaker geometry and negative rake angle are optimized for stable chip control in these materials at moderate to aggressive cutting depths. The maximum depth of cut is 0.2537 inches. Typical applications include face milling, high-feed roughing, and semi-finishing passes on CNC machining centers in aerospace, oil and gas, and general metalworking shops. The insert is compatible with the Dodeka cutter series and is screw-held in the cutter body pocket.
Compatible with Dodeka-series milling cutter bodies that accept HNGJ-style screw-held inserts. ANSI code HNGJ43ANENLD. ISO code HNGJ0604ANENLD. Material grades C5, C6, and C7.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key torque driver as specified by the cutter body manufacturer for the clamping screw — do not overtighten or undertighten the screw-held pocket. Inspect the pocket seat and screw threads for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
