The KENNAMETAL 4112611 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in steel and other demanding workpiece materials. Ground to a 135-degree split-point angle, it reduces walking and cutting force at entry without a center punch. The bit carries a multilayer TiAlN coating for thermal resistance and extended tool life in high-speed or dry cutting applications. With an overall length of 3.228 inches and a flute length of 1.732 inches, it fits standard jobber drill applications in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and production drilling setups. This tool is intended for machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and production floor operators working to tight tolerances.
This drill is sized at 0.2188 inches (7/32 inch) diameter with a straight cylindrical shank measuring 0.2362 inches in diameter. It is rated for a maximum drilling depth of 1.378 inches and meets DIN 6537K specification. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute design suit through-hole and blind-hole drilling in steel across both manual and CNC-driven production environments. Coolant-through capability supports high-feed operations where chip evacuation and thermal management are critical. The KCPK15 material grade targets general-purpose and specialized steel cutting applications.
Designed for use in steel and similar ferrous workpiece materials as noted by the manufacturer. Straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.2362-inch shank diameter. Conforms to DIN 6537K specification for jobber-length carbide drills.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel familiar with carbide cutting tool handling. Ensure the drill press, machining center, or CNC spindle is fully stopped and de-energized before inserting or removing the bit. Carbide tooling is brittle and should not be subjected to lateral shock or dropped onto hard surfaces. Verify spindle speed and feed rate against manufacturer cutting data for the workpiece material before engaging the cut.
