The KENNAMETAL 4112555 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in steel and other demanding workpiece materials. It features a 135-degree split-point geometry and a multilayer TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that extends tool life under high-heat cutting conditions. At 21/32 inch (0.6563 inch) diameter, the drill delivers consistent hole size within a tight tolerance of 0.007 to 0.025 mm. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and thermal management in deep-hole applications. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die shops, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers of this type of cutting tool.
This drill is suited for precision machining operations in steel across CNC machining centers, drill presses, and similar metalworking equipment. Its DIN 6537K specification and 5xD flute-by-diameter ratio make it a standard choice for production drilling where hole depth runs up to 71.00 mm (approximately 2.795 inches). The straight cylindrical shank at 18 mm (0.6406 inch decimal) fits standard drill chucks and collet-style tool holders used in both vertical and horizontal machining setups.
Designed for use in steel workpieces as a DIN 6537K-spec solid carbide jobber drill. Compatible with standard drill chucks and collet tool holders that accept an 18 mm straight cylindrical shank.
Installation and use of this cutting tool should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel familiar with CNC or manual metalworking equipment. Confirm tool holder runout is within acceptable limits before operation, as excess runout accelerates carbide edge wear. Ensure coolant lines are clear and delivering adequate flow when using the through-coolant feature. Do not use this drill in hand-held portable drilling equipment; solid carbide tooling requires rigid, low-vibration machine setups to prevent breakage.
