The KENNAMETAL 4111116 is a single-end carbide cutoff insert in the A2 series, designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the KCU25 manufacturer grade with an AlTiN coating applied via PVD process, delivering wear resistance and elevated-temperature performance in interrupted or continuous cuts. The insert features a 5.00 mm (0.1970 inch) cutting width, a 6-degree right-hand lead angle, a 2-degree relief angle, and a CF chipbreaker geometry. Installation is performed using a clamp-style holder. This insert is sized for an insert seat size of 5 and is intended for production machinists and toolroom technicians working in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
The 4111116 is suited for parting-off and deep grooving applications in both high-volume production and job-shop environments. The right-hand lead angle directs cutting forces appropriately for standard spindle rotation on conventional lathe setups. The CF chipbreaker promotes chip control in materials prone to stringy chip formation. This insert is sold individually per package, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units, making it appropriate for shops that maintain consistent tooling inventories for recurring turning operations.
Designed for use with A2 series clamp-style cutoff and grooving toolholders that accept an insert seat size of 5. Consult the toolholder manufacturer specifications to confirm seat geometry and clamping compatibility before installation.
This insert is installed and replaced by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down the machine and lock out the spindle before changing inserts. Ensure the toolholder seat and clamp are clean and free of chips or debris before seating the insert. Use the appropriate torque wrench per the toolholder manufacturer's clamping specifications — do not over-tighten the clamp screw.
