The KENNAMETAL 4109762 is a solid carbide grooving insert in the Top Notch series, designed for precision external and internal grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a KCU25 manufacturer grade with a PVD-applied AlTiN coating, which provides elevated heat resistance and extended tool life in interrupted cuts and moderate-to-hard workpiece materials. The insert features a 0.1252-inch cutting width, a maximum depth of cut of 0.1500 inches, and a neutral rake angle with a 0.0075-inch corner radius. The NG insert style seats into a size 4 insert seat and is configured for right-hand cutting. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals specify this insert for consistent groove geometry in production turning environments.
This insert is suited for use in turning centers running grooving, parting, and profiling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The KCU25 grade with AlTiN finish is well-matched to steels and materials that generate high cutting-zone temperatures. The 55-degree included angle and neutral rake support stable chip formation in both light and moderate feed applications. The Top Notch series is a common platform in production shops, and this insert fits the corresponding Top Notch toolholders accepting a size 4 insert seat. It is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 5 units.
Designed for use with Top Notch series toolholders accepting a size 4 insert seat. Cross-reference manufacturer designation NG4125R/L confirms fitment to standard Top Notch NG-style grooving and turning toolholders.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or clamp screw torque driver specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the insert without overtightening. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating a new insert to maintain accurate cutting geometry.
