The KENNAMETAL 4109632 is a carbide threading insert designed for cutting Acme-form threads at 6 TPI on both internal and external applications. It carries the KCU25 manufacturer grade and features a PVD-applied AlTiN finish coating that improves wear resistance and extends tool life in demanding threading operations. Part of the Top Notch series, this right-hand insert uses the NA insert style and has a 29-degree included angle consistent with Acme thread geometry. Insert size is 3, with a cutting tip width of 0.0567 inches and a corner radius of 0.0050 inches. Machinists and CNC operators working with Acme-threaded components in production or repair environments will find this insert suited to their tooling requirements.
This insert is used in Acme thread turning operations on lathes and CNC turning centers. Its right-hand cutting orientation suits the majority of standard Acme thread applications, including leadscrew production, power transmission components, and linear actuator components. The insert fits Top Notch series toolholders compatible with size 3 inserts. It is applicable to both internal and external threading passes, making it a versatile choice when a single insert grade needs to cover both bore threading and OD threading on Acme-form workpieces.
Designed for use with Top Notch series toolholders accepting size 3 threading inserts. Suitable for both internal and external Acme thread turning applications.
Threading inserts should be installed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping specifications. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Verify correct insert orientation for right-hand threading before engaging the cut. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the KCU25 grade to avoid premature edge failure.
