The KENNAMETAL 4079276 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 0.5-inch diameter with a 0.015-inch corner radius, four right-hand spiral flutes, and an AlTiN PVD coating that extends tool life in high-heat cutting environments. The cutting length of 1.25 inches and an overall length of 3 inches make it suited for standard-reach profiling and slotting operations. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry, and the high helix geometry supports both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this end mill in end mill toolholders on vertical and horizontal machining centers.
This end mill is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H. It is part of the KENNAMETAL UADE series, which targets extended-reach and high-productivity milling scenarios. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 0.5-inch diameter fits standard end mill toolholders commonly found in production and job-shop environments. The normal pitch and fixed helix geometry keep the tool predictable across a wide range of feed and speed combinations, making it appropriate for both prototype work and production runs.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Compatible with primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO codes P, M, K, S, H). Part of the KENNAMETAL UADE series.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle lock engaged before inserting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Verify toolholder runout with a dial indicator prior to production use, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and KENNAMETAL cutting data recommendations for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut specific to the workpiece material.
