The KENNAMETAL 4079266 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 5/8 inch (0.625 inch) cutting diameter, a 0.03 inch corner radius, and four right-hand spiral flutes with a high helix angle for efficient chip evacuation. The tool carries a PVD-applied AlTiN coating that provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting temperatures. At 3 inches overall length with a 3/4 inch length of cut, this is a long-reach, single-end, centercutting design suited for CNC machining centers. It is intended for use by machinists and tooling professionals in production or job-shop environments.
This end mill is rated for roughing and finishing operations across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The UADE series designation indicates a submicron carbide substrate grade formulated for toughness and edge retention in difficult-to-machine alloys. The straight cylindrical shank measures 5/8 inch in diameter and is compatible with hydraulic sleeve toolholders. Its extended-reach geometry makes it well suited for accessing deeper features such as pockets, slots, and stepped profiles where standard-length tools cannot reach.
Compatible with HC 1/2 through HC 1 1/4 hydraulic sleeves with inch bores and HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores. Rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per material codes P, M, K, S, and H.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. The machine spindle must be powered down and brought to a complete stop before changing or setting tooling. Ensure the shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the toolholder per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator after setup, as excessive runout will accelerate wear and degrade surface finish on this tool class.
