The KENNAMETAL 4071929 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 0.5-inch cutting diameter, a 0.03-inch corner radius, and a 2-inch length of cut, making it well suited for both roughing and finishing passes. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness, extending tool life when cutting ferrous and hard materials. The single-end, right-hand cutting geometry with a Weldon flat shank delivers consistent engagement and secure tool holding in compatible toolholders. This tool is appropriate for use by machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments.
This end mill is engineered for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials, covering material codes P, M, K, and H. The extended reach design, with a 2-inch reach length and 4-inch overall length, allows access to deeper features and pockets. It is compatible with EM-CV Form AD and EM IN-HSK Form A toolholding systems as specified by the manufacturer. The normal pitch and right-hand flute direction are suited for standard CNC milling setups. The submicron carbide grade and HPHV series designation indicate suitability for high-performance, high-velocity cutting strategies.
Designed for use with EM-CV Form AD and EM IN-HSK Form A toolholding systems. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials. Fits standard 0.5-inch collet or Weldon flat toolholders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe state before loading or changing tooling. Secure the Weldon flat shank with the set screw engagement at the flat to the manufacturer-specified toolholder procedure. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts, and confirm cutting parameters are appropriate for the workpiece material and machine capability.
