The KENNAMETAL 4071926 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built to the HPHV series specification, it features a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 0.12 inch corner radius, and four right-hand spiral flutes with a high helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness retention at elevated cutting temperatures, making this tool well-suited for aggressive cuts in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials. It is centercutting and configured for single-end use with a Weldon flat shank for positive drive retention. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling specialists are the primary users of this end mill.
This end mill is rated for roughing and finishing operations across a broad range of ferrous and hard workpiece materials, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials classified under material codes P, M, K, and H. The long-length configuration, with a 1.625 inch length of cut and 4.0 inch overall length, supports extended reach applications where standard-length tools cannot access the required depth. It is compatible for use with EM-CV Form AD and EM IN-HSK Form A toolholding systems as specified by the manufacturer.
Compatible with EM-CV Form AD and EM IN-HSK Form A toolholding systems per manufacturer specification. Designed for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials in CNC milling applications requiring a 0.5 inch diameter, single-end corner radius tool.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Confirm toolholder bore size matches the 0.5 inch shank diameter before mounting, and verify the Weldon flat is properly aligned with the set screw to ensure secure clamping. Inspect the collet or toolholder for runout before beginning a cut. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety protocols when setting tool offsets and speeds.
