The KENNAMETAL 4071911 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling of steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials. It carries a 1/2-inch diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 0.06-inch corner radius ground to a tight mill diameter tolerance of +0.000 / -0.002 inches. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry combined with an AlTiN PVD coating supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. The HPHV series designation indicates a high-helix, high-performance profile suited to demanding production environments. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die shops are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers running steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard material workpieces coded P, M, K, and H under ISO material classification. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral and slot milling. The Weldon flat shank with a 1/2-inch diameter and a shank diameter tolerance of +0.000 / -0.00043 inches provides secure tool holding in standard side-lock and shrink-fit holders. Compatible holder forms noted in product data include EM-CV Form AD and EM IN-HSK Form A styles. The 1-inch reach length and short overall length of 3 inches make it well suited to close-tolerance work in pockets and contoured features.
Noted compatible tool holding systems from product data include EM-CV Form AD and EM IN-HSK Form A holders. Designed as a direct OEM replacement or production-grade equivalent for use with standard 1/2-inch Weldon flat side-lock and shrink-fit toolholders in CNC machining applications on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard material workpieces.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for tool holding and runout verification. Confirm spindle is fully stopped and machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the Weldon flat fully against the setscrew in the holder and verify axial projection before machining. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut being applied.
