The KENNAMETAL 4071907 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials. Built to the HPHV series specification, it carries a 0.5-inch mill diameter, a 0.06-inch corner radius, and an AlTiN PVD coating that extends tool life in high-heat cutting environments. The single-end, right-hand cutting geometry features four spiral flutes with a high helix style, supporting both roughing and finishing operations. Extended reach geometry and a Weldon flat shank make this tool well-suited for setups requiring rigid tool holding and precise radial engagement. Machinists and CNC operators working with difficult alloys will find this cutter capable of sustained performance without premature wear.
The 4071907 is designed for short-reach applications with a 0.625-inch length of cut and a 2.5-inch overall length. The Weldon flat shank is compatible with EM-CV Form AD holders as well as EM IN-HSK Form A tooling interfaces, making it straightforward to integrate into common CNC machining center setups. Its centercutting capability and right-hand flute direction support plunge entries and conventional profiling passes. Primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, and H indicate suitability for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard material groups per ISO classification.
Compatible with EM-CV Form AD and EM IN-HSK Form A toolholders as specified by the manufacturer. Intended for use in CNC machining centers handling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials per ISO material groups P, M, K, and H.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine control in a safe state before tool changes. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into the holder and tighten the set screw against the flat to the toolholder manufacturer's specified engagement. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production cuts, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide end mills. Follow shop-specific speeds, feeds, and depth-of-cut parameters for the specific workpiece material and machine capability.
