The KENNAMETAL 4071841 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding metal removal in both roughing and finishing operations. It features a 3/8 inch mill diameter, a 0.03 inch corner radius, and four flutes arranged in a right-hand spiral configuration. The cutting edge is coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) via a PVD process, providing hardness and heat resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. The submicron carbide grade and high helix geometry of the HPHV series support aggressive material removal rates while maintaining edge integrity on difficult workpiece materials. This tool is sold as a single-end mill and is center-cutting capable.
This end mill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials in CNC milling applications. The 7/8 inch length of cut and extended reach design allow access to deeper features and pockets where standard-length tools cannot reach. It is compatible with HC 1/2 through HC 1 1/4 hydraulic sleeves with inch bores. The straight cylindrical shank diameter of 3/8 inch accommodates standard collet chucks and hydraulic toolholders. Typical users include CNC machinists and tool and die professionals working in production or job shop environments.
Compatible with HC 1/2 through HC 1 1/4 hydraulic sleeves with inch bores. Designed for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials (material grade codes P, M, K, H).
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder to the minimum insertion depth specified by the toolholder manufacturer before tightening. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or damage before mounting. Do not exceed the toolholder rated runout tolerance, as excess runout will accelerate edge wear on carbide tooling.
