The KENNAMETAL 4067270 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining environments. Built to the HPHV series standard, it features a 3/4 inch mill diameter, a 7/8 inch length of cut, and a 45-degree chamfer angle with a 0.0200 inch chamfer width. The AlTiN PVD coating extends tool life in abrasive and high-heat cutting conditions. With four flutes, a variable flute configuration, and a 38-degree medium helix angle, this end mill supports both roughing and finishing operations. A Weldon flat shank provides positive drive and minimal runout at the spindle interface. It is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop settings.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials, corresponding to ISO workpiece material codes P, M, K, and H. It supports a range of cutting strategies including side milling, shoulder milling, trochoidal milling, plunge milling, ramping, and slotting. The centercutting geometry enables direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. The 3/4 inch shank diameter matches common ER and side-lock toolholders found on vertical and horizontal machining centers. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle is locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Verify that the Weldon flat is properly aligned with the side-lock setscrew in the toolholder before torquing to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Confirm tool length offset and diameter compensation values are entered in the CNC control before initiating any cut.
