The KENNAMETAL 4067255 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining environments. With a 5/8-inch diameter, 1-1/4-inch length of cut, and a 38-degree helix angle, this tool is built for aggressive yet controlled cutting in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened materials. The AlTiN coating provides thermal and oxidation resistance, making it well suited for dry or semi-dry cutting at elevated speeds. A variable index design reduces chatter and improves surface finish. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers specify this tool when cycle time and tool life both matter.
This end mill belongs to the KENNAMETAL HPHV series and is intended for use on CNC machining centers in production or job-shop environments. Its centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without pre-drilling. Typical applications include profiling, slotting, and pocketing in ferrous and hardened workpiece materials. The 5/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders commonly found in vertical and horizontal machining centers. Primary workpiece material grades are P, M, K, and H per ISO classification, covering carbon steels, stainless steels, cast irons, and hardened steels up to the tool's rated capacity.
Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, H). Part of the KENNAMETAL HPHV series. Fits any toolholder accepting a 5/8-inch straight shank.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per shop safety procedures. Ensure the toolholder bore and shank are clean and free of chips before seating. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before cutting; excessive runout accelerates edge wear and reduces surface finish quality. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and KENNAMETAL cutting data recommendations for speed and feed; do not exceed the rated depth of cut for the workpiece material being machined.
