The KENNAMETAL 4057867 is a solid carbide hexagonal milling insert carrying the ISO designation HNGJ1307ANENGD and manufacturer grade KC725M. It features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, delivering thermal stability and wear resistance in demanding cutting applications. The insert has a positive rake angle of 15 degrees and a honed cutting edge, with 12 usable cutting edges on a double-sided configuration. At 0.2919 inches thick with an inscribed circle of 0.8750 inches and a 0.0469-inch corner radius, this insert is designed for high-productivity milling in steel, stainless steel, and superalloy and titanium workpieces. It is installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for milling applications involving steel, stainless steel, and superalloys including titanium-based materials, covering material grades C5, C6, and C7. It carries a neutral hand designation, making it adaptable across a range of cutter orientations. The HNGJ series insert fits into Kennametal Dodeka cutter bodies and is held in place by a screw-type mounting method. Applications span both roughing and finishing passes where a reliable, multi-edge carbide insert with PVD coating provides consistent tool life and surface quality.
Designed for use with Kennametal Dodeka cutter series bodies that accept HNGJ-style inserts. Conforms to both ANSI code HNGJ75ANENGD and ISO code HNGJ1307ANENGD for cross-reference and replacement sourcing.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before removing or seating inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to tighten the clamping screw to the cutter body specification - do not over-torque. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a fresh edge to ensure accurate positioning and prevent premature edge failure.
