The KENNAMETAL 4057830 is a solid carbide hexagon milling insert carrying the ISO designation HNPJ130720ANSNHD and manufacturer grade KC725M. The insert features a TiAlN PVD coating applied over solid carbide substrate, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability during high-demand milling operations. With 12 cutting edges, a 0.8750-inch inscribed circle, and a 0.2923-inch thickness, this double-sided, neutral-hand insert maximizes tool life per unit cost. A honed T-Land cutting edge style with a 15-degree rake angle and HD chip breaker geometry makes it well suited for aggressive material removal on difficult-to-machine workpieces. Licensed machinists and tooling specialists install this insert in compatible Dodeka-series milling cutter bodies.
This insert is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to material grade classifications C5, C6, and C7 (ISO work material codes P, M, and S). It is appropriate for both roughing and finishing passes where positive rake geometry and reliable chip control are required. The maximum depth of cut reaches 0.5052 inches, making it suitable for productive slotting and face milling applications in job shop and production environments. The screw-held mounting method provides secure clamping and repeatable edge indexing during insert changes.
Designed for use in KENNAMETAL Dodeka-series milling cutter bodies. Conforms to ANSI code HNPJ755ANSNHD and ISO code HNPJ130720ANSNHD. Compatible with material grade classifications C5, C6, and C7 for steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the cutter body is removed from the spindle and all machine motion is stopped before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to the cutter body manufacturer's specified seating procedure when fastening the mounting screw, and verify the insert seats flush against all pocket surfaces before returning the tool to service. Follow the cutter body manufacturer's guidelines for insert orientation and torque sequence.
