The KENNAMETAL 4050695 is a CNMG433RP indexable turning insert in the KCU10 grade, designed for productive metal removal on difficult-to-machine workpiece materials. The insert features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, which supports thermal resistance at the cutting edge during interrupted and continuous turning. The 80-degree diamond shape provides a strong nose geometry, while the RP chip breaker combines a chamfered and honed cutting edge with a 5-degree positive rake angle to manage chip flow and reduce cutting forces. With a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 0.0469-inch corner radius, the insert fits standard CNMG toolholders and is suited for medium to moderate finishing cuts. Licensed HVAC techs and plumbers work on different systems entirely — this insert is installed by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque on the clamping screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide insert. Inspect the insert pocket and locating pin for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
