The KENNAMETAL 4050687 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CNMG432MP1 geometry, running the KCU10 grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating. It seats into KENLOC-style toolholders using a clamp and pin holding method and delivers negative rake cutting action on an 80-degree diamond insert shape. The inscribed circle measures 0.5 inches, insert thickness is 0.1875 inches, and the corner radius is 0.0313 inches (1/32 inch). With four usable cutting edges and an MP1 chip breaker geometry, it is built for medium-to-rough turning, facing, and boring operations where chip control across a range of workpiece materials is a priority. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments are the primary users.
This insert is rated for primary use on steel, stainless steel, and superalloys including titanium-based materials, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, and S. Secondary applications cover cast iron, non-ferrous, and additional steel grades (ISO K, N, P). The MP1 chip breaker handles a broad depth-of-cut range, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.1691 inches. It suits both roughing and semi-finishing passes on CNC lathes and turning centers where consistent edge performance and reliable chip evacuation are required across moderate to aggressive feed rates.

Inspect the insert pocket and locating pin for wear or debris before seating a fresh edge.
