The KENNAMETAL 4048725 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built to the UCDE series specification, it features a 1/2-inch mill diameter, a 1-1/4-inch length of cut, and a 0.015-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in abrasive materials. With five flutes and a high helix spiral flute geometry, this end mill delivers efficient chip evacuation and a refined surface finish. It is sized for use in standard 1/2-inch tool holders with a Weldon flat shank configuration and a 3-inch overall length.
This end mill is suited for both roughing and finishing operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials. The ISO material grade designations P, M, K, and H confirm its range across ferrous and hard-material applications. The single-end, right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it a standard fit for conventional CNC milling setups in job shop, die and mold, and production machining environments. The submicron carbide grade adds toughness for interrupted cuts and hard-material applications. Compatible tool holders include EM-CV Form AD and EM IN-HSK Form A configurations.
Compatible with EM-CV Form AD and EM IN-HSK Form A tool holders. Designed for use in CNC machining centers with 1/2-inch collet or Weldon flat end mill holders. Suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials per ISO material codes P, M, K, and H.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or powered-down state before changing tooling. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into the holder and torque the setscrew per the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, particularly in tight-tolerance or hard-material applications.
