The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness retention at elevated cutting temperatures. Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out state per applicable machine safety procedures. The straight cylindrical shank requires a clean, properly sized collet or hydraulic chuck bore to achieve accurate runout. Inspect the bore and holder for chips or contamination before seating the tool. Verify clamping torque and tool projection against the toolholder manufacturer specifications before beginning a cut.
