The KENNAMETAL 4047735 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. With a 0.25-inch cutting diameter, a 0.015-inch corner radius, and four flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration, this tool delivers both roughing and finishing capability in a single pass. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting hard and abrasive materials. The extra-long design features a 1.75-inch length of cut and a 4-inch overall length, supporting extended-reach applications where standard-length tooling cannot access the workpiece. A straight-cylindrical 0.25-inch shank provides secure clamping in compatible hydraulic and collet toolholding systems. Installed by machinists and CNC tooling specialists in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, and H. The HPHV series designation indicates a high-performance, high-velocity design optimized for aggressive feed rates and tight tolerances on hardened workpieces. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, adding flexibility in 3-axis and multi-axis milling routines. The extra-long reach and single-end configuration make it well suited for deep-pocket milling, cavity work, and contour finishing where tool clearance is limited.
Compatible with HC 1/2 through HC 1-1/4 Hydraulic Sleeves Inch with Inch Bores, HC 20M through HC 32M Hydraulic Sleeves Metric with Inch Bores, and HC-CV Form AD toolholding systems as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or turret is in a safe state before mounting or removing the end mill. Verify runout after clamping in the hydraulic sleeve or collet holder, as excessive runout accelerates wear on small-diameter carbide tools. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and toolholder manufacturer guidelines for clamping force and projection length.
