The KENNAMETAL 4047726 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials. It carries a 1/4 inch mill diameter, a 0.03 inch corner radius, and four flutes with a high-helix spiral geometry. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. The HPHV series design supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool, making it a practical choice for machinists and tool-and-die professionals running tight-tolerance work on CNC machining centers.
This end mill is suited for use in shops machining ferrous metals and hard alloys on vertical or horizontal machining centers. The straight-cylindrical shank and extended-reach configuration allow access to deeper features without sacrificing rigidity. It is compatible with HC 1/2 through HC 1 1/4 hydraulic sleeves with inch bores, HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores, and HC-CV Form AD toolholders. It is a single-end, right-hand cutting, right-hand flute tool with no chipbreaker and no coolant-through capability.
Compatible with HC 1/2 through HC 1 1/4 hydraulic sleeves with inch bores, HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores, and HC-CV Form AD toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, H).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer torque and runout specifications for hydraulic-sleeve or collet-chuck setups. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is disabled before inserting or removing the end mill. Verify shank seating depth and runout at the tool tip before beginning the cut. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's rated clamping force for the 1/4 inch shank diameter.
