The KENNAMETAL 4047721 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 1/4-inch diameter, a 0.03-inch corner radius, and four right-hand spiral flutes with a high-helix geometry. The AlTiN PVD coating extends tool life when cutting ferrous and hard materials at elevated temperatures. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 1/2-inch length of cut, this single-end, centercutting tool is built for both roughing and finishing passes. The straight cylindrical shank measures 1/4 inch in diameter, and the submicron carbide grade provides consistent edge integrity across demanding workpiece materials.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials in both production and job-shop environments. Its HPHV series designation indicates a high-performance, high-velocity design optimized for use in rigid setups with quality toolholding. The extended-reach geometry and short flute length make it appropriate for applications requiring good rigidity with controlled tool stick-out. It is compatible with HC 1/2 to HC 1-1/4 hydraulic sleeves with inch bores, HC 20M to HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores, and HC-CV Form AD toolholding systems as specified by the manufacturer.
Compatible with HC 1/2 to HC 1-1/4 hydraulic sleeves with inch bores, HC 20M to HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores, and HC-CV Form AD toolholding. Intended for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials.
This tool is installed and operated by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify runout at the toolholder before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and Kennametal published cutting data for appropriate speeds and feeds for the workpiece material.
