The KENNAMETAL 4047711 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 3/16 inch diameter with a 0.015 inch corner radius, 4 flutes, and an AlTiN PVD coating that extends tool life in high-heat cutting environments. The overall length is 2.25 inches with a 5/8 inch length of cut and a 3/16 inch straight cylindrical shank. Belonging to the HPHV series, this tool is engineered for both roughing and finishing passes and is well suited for extended reach applications in difficult-to-machine materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, aerospace, and general metalworking environments rely on tools of this type for tight-tolerance contouring and profiling work.
This end mill is built for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials. The single-end, center-cutting design allows plunge entry and peripheral cutting in a single tool. The long flute geometry and extended reach capability make it appropriate for milling deep pockets, slots, and contoured profiles where tool clearance is a critical concern. It is compatible with HC 1/2 through HC 1 1/4 hydraulic sleeves with inch bores, HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores, and ER single angle standard collets.
Compatible with HC 1/2 through HC 1 1/4 hydraulic sleeves with inch bores, HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores, and ER single angle standard collets. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, H).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is in a safe state before loading or removing the end mill. Verify the shank is clean and free of chips or coolant residue before seating in the collet or hydraulic sleeve. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's specified runout tolerance, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on small-diameter carbide tools.
