The KENNAMETAL 4046239 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials. Built to the F4AS series specification, this 4-flute, single-end tool features a 1.00 mm corner radius, an 8.00 mm cutting diameter, and a 12.00 mm length of cut. An AlTiN PVD coating delivers heat resistance and extended tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. The 38-degree high-helix design promotes efficient chip evacuation and supports both roughing and finishing operations. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, expanding application versatility. The extended reach configuration and 7.52 mm neck diameter provide clearance in deep-pocket and contoured workpiece applications.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers running steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard material workpieces. The short length-of-cut classification and straight-cylindrical shank make it well matched to precision milling operations where rigidity and runout control are critical. The 8.00 mm shank diameter is compatible with ER single-angle standard collets, making it straightforward to integrate into existing tooling setups. Typical applications include profile milling, slot milling, and corner-radius contouring in aerospace, die-and-mold, and general metalworking environments.
Compatible with ER single-angle standard collets. Designed for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials. Part of the KENNAMETAL F4AS series.
Installation should be performed by qualified CNC machine operators or tooling technicians following established shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the collet to the recommended gauge length before torquing the collet nut. Verify tool runout with a dial indicator after setup to protect edge integrity and workpiece finish quality.
