The KENNAMETAL 4046235 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding metal-removal applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials. Measuring 6 mm in diameter with a 1 mm corner radius and 9 mm length of cut, this single-end, center-cutting tool is coated with an AlTiN PVD finish for heat resistance and extended tool life. The high-helix, 4-flute spiral geometry supports both roughing and finishing in a single pass. Overall length is 63 mm with a 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Submicron carbide grade provides the toughness and edge retention needed when machining harder workpiece materials.
This end mill is built for use in CNC machining centers and milling setups where close-tolerance work on steel and stainless steel is required. The extended-reach design and 18 mm reach length make it suitable for cavity work and pocketing operations where standard-reach tools cannot access the feature. It is rated for use with ER single-angle standard collets. The short flute length combined with the extended neck reduces deflection when working at reach. Professional machinists, tool-and-die shops, and job shops running P-, M-, K-, and H-class workpiece materials are the primary users.
Designed for use with ER single-angle standard collets. Rated for primary workpiece materials steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials (material codes P, M, K, H). Part of the KENNAMETAL F4AS series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer collet and toolholder torque guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or unloading the tool. Shank diameter tolerance is +0.000/-0.008 mm, so verify collet condition and cleanliness before clamping to maintain runout specifications. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material and depth of cut.
