The KENNAMETAL 4045193 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal removal on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It carries the ANSI designation CCGT32502 and ISO designation CCGT09T301, with an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape and a KCU10 grade. The TiAlN PVD coating delivers high wear resistance across a range of cutting conditions. With a positive rake angle of 5 degrees and a 7-degree relief angle, this insert is configured for finishing and light machining operations. It offers two cutting edges and uses a screw-on holding method.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations in both shop and production environments. It is used on CNC lathes and manual turning centers where tight tolerances and fine surface finishes are required. The LF chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing cuts on steel and stainless steel, and the KCU10 grade extends into superalloys and titanium applications. The honed cutting edge style reduces chipping risk on demanding workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in general machining and precision parts manufacturing are the primary installers.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for CCGT-style screw-on toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle insert. Compatible with workpiece materials coded P, M, K, N, S, and H, covering steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and hardened materials. The ANSI size code is 32502 and ISO size code is 09T301.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Before indexing or replacing the insert, shut down spindle rotation and confirm the machine is in a safe, locked-out state. Use the correct torque driver for the screw-on clamping screw to avoid damaging the insert seat or over-stressing the carbide. Verify toolholder pocket condition and seat cleanliness before seating the new insert, as debris or damage to the pocket directly affects insert performance and tool life.
