The KENNAMETAL 4041061 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It measures 3/16 inches in diameter with a 0.015-inch corner radius that reduces edge chipping and produces a controlled radius at the bottom of milled features. The 2-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation in softer materials such as aluminum, brass, and copper alloys. At 2 inches overall length with a 3/8-inch length of cut, this short-series end mill is well suited for rigidity-critical operations. It is installed by machinists and CNC mill operators in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is intended for roughing operations on non-ferrous metals, indicated by its coarse pitch and submicron carbide grade substrate. The bright uncoated finish is appropriate for aluminum and other materials where coatings can cause built-up edge. It accepts standard ER single angle collets for workholding. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as conventional and climb milling passes. Typical applications include profiling, slotting, and pocket milling in CNC vertical machining centers and manual knee mills.
Compatible with ER single angle standard collets. Designed for use in CNC and manual milling machines with a 3/16-inch collet or chuck bore. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal per KENNAMETAL series ABDF specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the end mill from the collet. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the collet nut is torqued according to the collet manufacturer specifications. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut to avoid premature tool wear or part damage.
