The KENNAMETAL 3899201 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built to the UCDE series specification, it features a 0.75 inch mill diameter, a 0.12 inch corner radius, and five flutes with a high-helix spiral geometry oriented for right-hand cutting. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear life suited to dry or semi-dry cutting. At 4 inches overall length with a 1.625 inch length of cut, this tool handles both roughing and finishing passes on a single-end solid carbide platform. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers typically apply this end mill on 3-axis and 5-axis machining centers.
This end mill is rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, making it a practical choice across job shop and production environments. The submicron carbide grade and AlTiN coating combination supports elevated cutting speeds and feeds in difficult-to-machine materials where tool life and surface finish consistency are critical. The straight-cylindrical shank at 0.75 inch diameter is compatible with hydraulic chucks and shrink-fit toolholders commonly used in precision CNC setups. The UCDE series is intended for operators who need a corner radius profile to reduce stress concentration at the bottom of a milled pocket or shoulder feature.
Specified for use with HC-HSK Form A, Hydraulic Chuck Standard Line Inch KM63XMZ, and HC-CV Form AD toolholding systems. Designed for CNC machining centers cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, H).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Verify runout and tool projection length against the programmed cut depth before initiating a cut. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping specifications for the chuck style in use; do not exceed the shank diameter tolerance stated for this tool.
