The KENNAMETAL 3899196 is a single-end corner radius end mill head engineered for demanding metal removal in both roughing and finishing operations. Built from solid carbide with a PVD-applied AlTiN coating, this tool delivers heat resistance and wear life across high-temperature cutting environments. The 3/4-inch mill diameter, five-flute geometry, and close-pitch spiral flute design allow aggressive chip evacuation while maintaining surface finish. A corner radius of 0.015 inches reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in interrupted cuts. Variable index spacing minimizes chatter during high-feed passes. Material grade KC643M is matched to the UCDE series platform.
This end mill head is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials in both shop and production environments. The right-hand cutting, right-hand flute direction configuration fits standard spindle setups. With a 1.5-inch length of cut and 4-inch overall length, it handles medium-depth pocketing, slotting, and profile milling on vertical and horizontal machining centers. It is center-cutting, allowing direct plunge entry where required. The straight-cylindrical shank mounts to compatible toolholders used in CNC milling applications.
Designed for use with UCDE-series toolholders. The straight-cylindrical shank diameter of 0.75 inches with h6 tolerance fits standard collet and shrink-fit toolholding systems compatible with the UCDE platform.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing or seating the end mill head. Verify toolholder bore cleanliness and runout with a dial indicator before tightening to confirm proper seating. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping procedures specified for the UCDE interface.
