The KENNAMETAL 3899137 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 3/8 inch diameter with a 0.015 inch corner radius that protects cutting edges and reduces chipping during aggressive passes. With 5 flutes and a high helix angle of 38 degrees, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. The single-end tool has a 1 inch length of cut and a 3 inch overall length. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness, extending tool life when cutting abrasive and heat-generating workpiece materials. Licensed HVAC techs and machinists in production and toolroom environments rely on this geometry for both roughing and finishing operations.
This end mill is built for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It fits the UCDE series and is compatible with HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores. The straight cylindrical shank at 3/8 inch diameter seats securely in standard end mill holders and collet chucks used in CNC machining centers and manual mills. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction match the majority of production milling setups. It is suited for both roughing passes and finish milling where corner protection is required.
Part of the KENNAMETAL UCDE series. Compatible with HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores. Designed for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, H).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom professional. Secure the straight cylindrical shank fully within the holder to the recommended gauge line before torquing the retention mechanism according to the holder manufacturer specifications. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on fine corner radii. This tool is not center-cutting, so plunge milling is not recommended without a pre-drilled entry point.
