The KENNAMETAL 3885829 is a solid carbide stub-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in hard and abrasive materials. Ground to a 180-degree flat-bottom point, it is suited for applications requiring full-diameter entry without a conventional conical tip. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures. At 6.00 mm (0.2362 inches) in diameter with a 66.00 mm (2.5984 inches) overall length and a 28.00 mm (1.1024 inches) flute length, this bit fits the stub-length form factor of the B707A-FBL series. Internal coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and heat management during deep cuts. It is typically installed and operated by machinists and CNC tool setters.
This drill bit is used in screw machine operations, CNC machining centers, and manual drilling applications where flat-bottomed blind holes or close-tolerance bores are required. The stub-length body increases rigidity and reduces deflection compared to jobber-length bits, making it well suited for tight setups and hard workpiece materials.
