The KENNAMETAL 3866256 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in non-ferrous metal applications. Built to KENNAMETAL AADE series specifications, it features a 0.5-inch diameter, a 0.015-inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes with a 37-degree helix angle. The submicron carbide grade and coarse pitch geometry are optimized for material removal in roughing operations. The bright, uncoated finish makes this tool well suited for non-ferrous workpiece materials where coating adhesion or chemical reaction is a concern. Licensed machinists and CNC setup technicians are the primary installers and operators of this tool.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling of non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper, and brass. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, and the single-end, straight cylindrical shank fits standard end mill toolholders. With a 1.25-inch length of cut and 3-inch overall length, it is suited for moderate-depth features in production and job-shop environments.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. The 0.5-inch straight cylindrical shank is compatible with ER, DA, and similar collet systems as well as Weldon-style side-lock holders sized for 0.5-inch shanks. Primary workpiece material class is non-ferrous metal (material code N).
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Confirm the shank is fully seated and the toolholder set screw or collet nut is torqued to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling.
