The KENNAMETAL 3866202 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. With a 0.5-inch cutting diameter and a 1-inch length of cut, this single-end tool removes material cleanly across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The 37-degree helix angle and three spiral flutes promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Manufactured to KENNAMETAL material grade K600 micrograin carbide, it delivers consistent edge integrity under demanding conditions. A right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation make this a standard configuration for most vertical and horizontal milling setups. Machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments rely on tools of this type for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling.
This end mill fits conventional milling applications where a 0.5-inch shank diameter is required. The AADE series designation indicates a regular-length geometry suited to general-purpose work. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, expanding its use to pocketing and ramp-entry operations. It is appropriate for use on CNC machining centers, knee mills, and similar equipment where carbide tooling is specified. The bright, uncoated finish is typical for applications where a base carbide substrate is preferred or where subsequent coating is not required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling option for standard ER, side-lock, or shrink-fit tool holders accepting a 0.5-inch shank diameter in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked out before loading or changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended grip length in the tool holder and verify runout with a dial indicator before production use. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and machine horsepower rating.
