The KENNAMETAL 3854761 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. With a 0.625 inch mill diameter, a 1.25 inch length of cut, and a 3-flute spiral geometry, this tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and a clean square shoulder profile. The 37-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and reduced vibration during full-depth passes. Manufactured to Kennametal material grade K600 micrograin carbide, the uncoated bright finish makes this end mill well suited for applications where coating compatibility or regrinding is a priority. It is a single-end, center-cutting design, capable of plunging and peripheral milling. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops, production environments, or maintenance settings will find this part a direct fit for standard Series AADE applications.
This end mill is used in milling ferrous and non-ferrous materials where tight tolerances and consistent tool geometry are required. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC machining center spindles and manual knee mills. The 0.625 inch shank diameter fits directly into ER collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling sized for 5/8 inch shanks. The 3.5 inch overall length provides adequate reach for most standard workpiece setups without excessive overhang. No extended reach configuration is present, keeping deflection minimal at this diameter. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill in Kennametal Series AADE tooling programs. Fits standard 5/8 inch end mill holders, ER collets, and shrink-fit toolholders sized for a 0.625 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's torque and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and free of chips before seating the shank to maintain concentricity and prevent premature tool wear. Always confirm spindle direction matches the right-hand cut orientation of this tool before engaging the workpiece. Follow all applicable machine guarding and PPE requirements per shop safety standards when handling and installing carbide cutting tools.
