The KENNAMETAL 3779250 is a solid carbide milling insert with ISO designation EDPT10T304PDSRGE and manufacturer grade KC725M. It features a parallelogram shape with a 70-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry, and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style. The insert carries a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, providing thermal resistance and wear life in demanding cut conditions. At 0.474 inches long, 0.266 inches wide, and 0.148 inches thick, with a 0.016-inch corner radius, this right-hand insert is engineered for screw-held toolholders and delivers two cutting edges per insert. It is installed by machinists and tooling technicians in CNC milling operations.
This insert is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, covering material grades C5, C6, and C7 (ISO material codes P, M, and S). The GE chip breaker geometry promotes controlled chip evacuation in these materials. It is suited for use in face milling, shoulder milling, and high-feed milling applications at the medium-to-finishing end of the cut spectrum where edge stability and coating durability are priorities. Compatible cutter series is the Kennametal Mill 1-10 platform. The ANSI code for this insert is EP1004SGE.
Designed for use in the Kennametal Mill 1-10 cutter series. Insert is screw-held and right-hand oriented. Confirmed compatible cutter series designation is Mill 1-10 as stated in manufacturer data.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in a vise or holder before seating or removing inserts. Use the correct Torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer torque specification for the clamping screw — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide substrate. Verify insert seating and pocket cleanliness before resuming cuts, and confirm correct insert orientation (right-hand) matches the cutter body hand.
