The KENNAMETAL 3769436 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DPMT style, designed for precision finishing operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the industry standard designation DPMT2152FP and is coated with AlTiN via a PVD process, providing moderate wear resistance and toughness across a range of workpiece materials. The insert features a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a positive rake angle of 15 degrees, an 11-degree relief angle, and a honed cutting edge style. With a 1/4 inch inscribed circle and a 1/32 inch corner radius, it is sized for light to moderate material removal in finishing passes. Installation uses a screw-on holding method. Each package contains one insert, with a minimum order quantity of five units.
This insert is suited for finishing applications including turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring. Its grade characteristics make it applicable across steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and superalloys and titanium workpiece materials. The KCU25 grade is rated for moderate wear resistance and toughness in steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), aluminum and non-ferrous (N), and special and super alloy (S) material groups. It is a neutral-hand insert, usable on standard toolholders without handedness restrictions. It conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards and carries the ISO designation DPMT070208.
Designed as an OEM-style screw-on replacement insert conforming to ANSI insert code DPMT2152 and ISO insert code DPMT070208, compatible with DPMT-style screw-on turning toolholders rated for that insert size.
This insert is installed and indexed by a licensed machinist or toolroom technician using the appropriate torx or hex key for the screw-on clamp mechanism. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing inserts. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surface for chips or damage before seating the new insert. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut of 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches) for finishing passes.
