The KENNAMETAL 3769416 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT32505FP geometry with a KCU25 grade designation. It features an AlTiN coating applied via PVD process, delivering moderate wear-resistance and toughness across a range of workpiece materials. The insert carries an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a 0.0079-inch corner radius, and a 3/8-inch inscribed circle. With a positive rake angle of 15 degrees and a 7-degree relief angle, this insert is configured for finishing operations. It is installed via screw-on holding method and is suited for use by machinists and tool room technicians running CNC or manual turning equipment.
This insert is designed for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and superalloys including titanium. The FP chip breaker geometry targets finishing cuts, providing controlled chip formation at light-to-moderate depths of cut up to 0.1268 inches. The neutral hand orientation makes it adaptable across common tool holder setups. It conforms to both ANSI (CCMT32505) and ISO (CCMT09T302) insert standards, making it a drop-in fit for compatible CCMT-style screw-on tool holders already in the shop.
Designed as a screw-on CCMT-style replacement insert compatible with tool holders accepting the CCMT32505 (ANSI) or CCMT09T302 (ISO) insert geometry. Specific tool holder compatibility should be verified against the holder manufacturer specifications before installation.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Before changing inserts, power down and lock out the machine per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the insert fully in the tool holder pocket and torque the clamping screw to the tool holder manufacturer specification using the appropriate Torx or hex key. Inspect the cutting edge and chip breaker for damage before returning the tool to service. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut for this insert geometry.
