The KENNAMETAL 3769402 is a solid carbide turning insert with an AlTiN PVD coating, designed for precision metal cutting operations in CNC and manual lathe applications. It carries the ANSI designation VBMT221FP and ISO designation VBMT110304. The 35-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape provides a sharp, low-included-angle geometry suited for finishing passes. The FP chip breaker geometry supports chip control during finishing cuts, and the KCU10 grade delivers high wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials including stainless steel, steel, cast iron, and superalloys. Insert thickness is 0.125 inches with a 0.25-inch inscribed circle and a 1/64-inch corner radius.
This insert is engineered for finishing operations and is rated for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring applications. It is suited for use on stainless steel, steel, cast iron, aluminum, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. The positive rake angle and honed cutting edge style reduce cutting forces during light-to-moderate stock removal passes. The screw-on holding method secures the insert in compatible VBMT-style toolholders. It is a multi-use insert appropriate for both production and job-shop environments where tight tolerances and good surface finish are required.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before mounting a new insert.
